Survival of the Fittest: Only mantra to survive Corona

Survival of the fittest is a phrase that originated from Drawinian Evolutionary Theory as a way of describing the mechanism of natural selection. According to this theory, Only those species that will leave the most copies of itself in successive generations will survive and others will get extinct

Now, we can apply this theory to today’s corona era. Not in literal term, that is, not in reproductive term. But in general term. Corona is now part of our life and it will remain with us for a long time. And we have to get fit so that we can fight this new challenge everyday.

Here I am to explain what survival of fittest mean to me. Let me explain spere by spere

1. Health:

We have to make exercise a part of our daily life. As corona attacks our lungs, so best thing we can do is Yoga. Or we can also try workouts that keep our heart healthy. Google it and you will get a long list of yoga and workouts.

But health doesn’t just mean exercise. It is also about improving your immunity. Call your eldest family member and ask them for kadha (homemade drink that will boost your immunity) If you don’t want to ask any one then google it. You will get recipes of it.

2. Financial:

Corona has also taught us about how saving is important. If you have money you don’t have to worry about hunger and lockdowns. So, spend a little and save a little

3. Career:

I have many people around, who are like, now there will be recession and i will lose my job and many fears like this. To them i would say, this is the time people. Yes, this is the time.

Whatever work you are doing, do it efficiently. If you used to give 100% at your work, now you should give 150%. Expand your network.

And if you still feel you will be affected by recession then listen due to pandemic many universities and best trainers have open the door of online training, so shake off your worries and grab the opportunity. Learn new skills. As no organisation at any cost would ever want to lose a skilled and smart employee

4. Hygiene:

Due to corona we have learnt some really good hygiene habits like washing our hands frequently, using sanitizer and using mask. We should follow these habits to survive.

5. Food:

Due to corona we have stopped eating street food, pizza, burger and all other items that are not good for health. And this should be continued if we don’t want to ever encounter with the virus. Home made food should become our habit.

Above are my opinions. Let me know what is your opinion. And what else can we add to survive this pandemic.

Why India should focus on Women Bill.

Women constitute almost 50% of the population of the country and yet they are not adequately represented in the parliament. And here, where the question to the commitment of India towards being a democratic country arise.

Not adequate representation leads turning deaf to the concerns of the population which are responsible for the growth of society in literal terms.

Let me quote one example of how inadequate representation of women affects. The sanitary napkin case. Yes, sanitary napkin a basic thing. Necessary in the day to day life for women, where under tax slab. It took almost a decades for lawmakers to realise that sanitary napkins are a basic need and not a luxurious good. And it deserves to be exempted from the tax slab. Although late, a welcome move.

More then inadequate representation the real danger lies when rapist, harassers, criminals and people with highly patriarchal ideology represents society. For whom the crimes against women happen because women invite them. And therefore there is no surprise that there are no strict rules or procedures which could punish a rapist. Nirbhay rape case took almost 8 yrs for the final verdict.

And the same is the reason for the non-passing of Women Bill 2018. Women Bill talks about giving 33% reservation for women. If a country like UAE can come up and give 50% reservation for women in their national council then why not a country like India.

Yes, I want Women Bill to be discussed and passed in parliament. So that women are represented properly and India becomes a democratic country in the real sense.

Increase in Women out of workforce in India.

Recently I have been through a report by Surbhi Ghai and published by the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relation. This reports cited that the labour employment figures show that there is a rise in the percentage of women out of labour force between 2011-12 and 2015-16 across all level of education and age cohorts.

Now, one of the example in this context would be: if we look at age cohort 30 years and above shows, the percentage of women with a graduate degree and above who are not in labour force has been increased from 62.7% to 65.2%.

The factors that are seen to be the reason behind the widening gap between graduate women and their presence in labour force are seen as follows:

  • Role education plays in the marriage market.
  • Social norms: which ensures higher prestige or social status is associated with the families which keep the women out of labour force.
  • The poor condition of educated women.
  • Quality of education (applies to all men and women)
  • Formal sector jobs have not kept pace with the supply of educated women.
  • Companies preferring male versus female since providing safety to women somewhere increases their expenditure cost.

Way forward:-

Research study recommends that government policies should focus on behavioural changes that make female employment more acceptable in society. Communication programme on gender equality in secondary education to help student imbibe equitable gender norms as well as programmes that acknowledge child care as a responsibility of both parents.

Birthday wishes to PM Modi

Birthday wishes to one of my favourite leader Mr Narendra Modi Ji.

The best orator of our time.

One among the very few present leaders who have a clear vision for India on whole and not for any particular group.

A leader who never hesitate to show his spiritual side.

A leader admired not just by Indians but NRIs and foreigners too.

A leader who brought back the lost glory of India on international forums and made it clear that world can’t progress without India.

Respect and love for him will always remain high because he, with his position, showed the strength of the common man and the power of democracy.

Ministers insulting women in India

Recently, BJP MLA Ram Kadam was heard saying, “You may meet me and seek my assistance. If you tell me that you have proposed to a girl and she says no to you, I will help you 100 per cent. I will tell you to bring your parents to me first, and if they, too, like the girl, I will kidnap her and hand her over to you. You can take my mobile number and call me.”

This is basically not the first time that an MLA or elite leader have made such an insulting statement for women. Let’s take a look at a few more incidences when MLA’s made such an insulting statement towards women community.

In 2014, in the run-up to elections in the state, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav opposed capital punishment for rape, saying “ladke ladke hote, galti ho jati hai (boys will be boys, mistakes can be made).”

Speaking at a rally in Moradabad, he said, “Ladkiyan Pehle Dosti karti hain. Ladke-ladki men jhagade ho jati hai. Jhagda hone key bad use rape ka Naam dey jaata hain. Ladko says galti ho jati hai. Kya rape case mein fhase di jayegi? (First girls become friends with boys. Then when they have differences between them, girls level rape charges. Boys commit mistakes. Will they be hanged for rape?).”

President Pranab Mukherjee’s son Abhijit Mukherjee sparked a controversy in 2012 with an incredibly sexist remark against women protesting the Delhi bus-gangrape case.

“I would term the protests in Delhi as what is popularly known as Pink Revolution. It is becoming fashionable to land up on the streets with a candle in hand. Such people are completely disconnected from reality. They go to discotheques. I am very well versed with student activism and I can bet on it that most of the protesters are not students. They are dented and painted women chasing two minutes of fame, giving interviews on TV. The protesters do not fall in the age group of students,” he said.

In 2014, a video of Trinamool Congress MP Tapas Pal went viral, where he could be seen openly threatening to rape women members of the opposition.

“I am from Chandannagar. Leaders are created by workers. I am also a goonda. I will shoot you guys if a Trinamool Congress worker is ever attacked. If you have the guts, then stop me… If you insult the mothers and daughters of Trinamool workers, I won’t spare you. I will let loose my boys in your homes and they will commit rape,” Pal said.

This is again are the few examples where leaders have spoken in an irresponsible manner. What is worrying is they are MLA, representative of people, they are followed by many young groups. And their such statements are sending wrong signals to the youth and society as a whole. Not just this but these people are legislatures, they make law. If a person with such a mentality is making law, then how can we even expect that our laws will be women-friendly.

I guess it just because we as the public are sending people which such mentality to parliament that it took so long for parliament to understand that sanitary napkins are basic needs and not luxurious good. It was after the long debate that sanitary napkins became tax-free. And women reservation bill is still struggling to get due attention in parliament.

From all the situation today India is in, all I would say is, India deserves the position of a most dangerous country in the world in Thomson Reuters Foundation report.

If we want to change the scenario then we have to think about whom we are voting. And instead of voting for a party we should vote for a clean and deserving candidate from our constituency. Only then can we hope that we can see the change otherwise the circus will continue.

Words travelled the world

Well, I have been writing this blogs from past 4 years. I am very irregular at it. At the same time I am quiet moody with my blogs. Yet, everytime I wrote something new I got really good response.

I have learnt many things on this wordpress.com site. Which helped me improving my writing. It also gave me lots of new opportunities. Like, I was approached by @marathifc an Instagram page with huge following to write articles for them, which helped me in exploring new ways of writing. Also, I got an opportunity to write for an online newsletter website. Who read one of my blogs related to Mr. Modi and they liked it so much so that they published on their website.

Really, this blogging website has give me many opportunity to explore new ways of writing. Not just writing, but the other bloggers whom I follow also taught me lot of things. From them I got to know about various styles, methods and techniques of the writing.

Well, I guess that why people say the words are the most powerful thing in this world. And on this note I would like to repeat my title once again…..”my words travelled the world”

Weird mommy things.

Let me first wish all mothers a very happy mother’s day. Mother’s service is non measurable. No amount of money, love and care can actually fullfill their care, love and service. My mommy is just like typical mothers in the world: over possessive, over protective and over loving. So, Here I am with the weirdest mommy thing of my mom. If you have also gone through this then feel free to share with me in below comments.

1. My mom watches serials like crime petrol, CID and all such kinds on television and then she keep on prediticing that same might happen with her daughter (that is me) and since I don’t live with her. She keep on calling me after every hour. Just confirming that the crime petrol episode didn’t happen with me.🤣

2. My mom is very outgoing person. She often goes out with her friends. Whenever she gets ready she starts clicking slefie. And the fact is, her mobile has more selfies then I have on my phone. Well,I don’t mind her obsession with selfie. But the thing is whenever she click a selfie, she captures me in background with some weird expressions. And she not just click it but also keep it as her whatsapp DP that too without editing me. It’s really very embarrassing.😥 I told her to either edit picture or don’t click me in background but she never listens.

3. My mom is very active on all social media platform. She often calls me and tells me about my friends status and DPs.

4. This one is the latest: today I wished my mother and asked her with all my excitment how do you feel being mother of me. And she gave epic reply, she said, “kahich nahi watat” (which in marathi means

, I don’t feel anything special) 🤣 I was just screwed by her answer.

I think enough for today. She is Jem of heart. And she speaks with full innocence. May be that’s why I laugh even when she is scolding me (obvisouly not infornt of her, but within my heart).

Proud to be an Indian

Tri Colour of India, Indian flag, is just a piece of clothes but it has huge importance for every person who is Indian at heart. I am a youth born in free India. When I was born, India was on its path of rapid progress. And so I have witnessed many fast changes in society. As the time passed the facilities that we posses just grew better and better. So, I hardly have an impression of India as backward nation. I have always witnessed India as a progressive nation.

Being born in free India, I didn’t exactly know what was the freedom struggle efforts were like. But being a nationalist of the nation who have in history fought heroically for own freedom kept me curious about the historical text. From childhood itself we were taught about history. But it was in class 8th when we got opportunity to learn Indian freedom struggle. Believe it or not but even today my favourite books and favourite subject remained the History of India.

Everytime I read it, I feel irritated, I could clearly feel curelity that Britishers behaved with Indians. I feel energetic and enthusiastic. I feel proud. And mainly I feel heroic.

Whenever I see flag waving high up in the sky, I feel proud, I feel heroic, I feel my freedom. The feeling is something that one can’t describe. It’s really sad that few people today are discussing whether to make it compulsory to people to stand for national anthem or whether to raise the slogan of Vande Mataram.

For me, whenever I see flag i don’t need any speech, any music or any instruction to respect it. I automatically stand up and my hand on its own raises up to salute the flag. The respect comes from within. May be I didn’t witnessed the freedom struggle by my own eyes. But I do have lived the freedom struggle again and again by reading the history.

Indeed it’s a great deal to be an Indian. It’s my fortune to be born in India, land of diversity, bravery and kindness.

Accompanied with the tea

We had a tea,

We had a talk,

We had a tea accompanied with the talks.

No long vacations,

No shopping hard,

In peace sat We,

Accompanied with the tea.

We shared our left behind moments,

We shared the laughed we missed,

We spoke our heart freely,

Accompanied with the tea.

It was refreshing,

It was rejoicing,

Accompanied with the tea,

It was all worthy.
